About Spatial Composition (ASC)

ASC:   SOLD

Spatial composition is the process of placing an object, as a focal point, on a particular plane. In the field of design, the composition of the placement of an object is very influential, so that it is comfortable to see the results of processing the object.

There are several compositions of object placement, namely:

1. Middle composition

spatial composition where the focal object is in the middle of the media.

2. Left composition

spatial composition where the focal object is on the left of the media.

3. Right composition

spatial composition where the focus object is on the right of the media.

4. Top composition

spatial composition where the focal object is above the media.

5. Bottom composition

spatial composition where the focal object is below the media.

6. Composition of thirds

spatial composition where the focal object is in one third of the media

7. Perspective Composition

A static image, bound to time, and seen from a certain point of view. A composition is said to be static if the object of the photo is placed in the middle of the picture plane.

8.Composition: Know the 1/3 Rule

Composition is the placement of visual elements in a frame so that it is pleasing to the eye. These elements include lines, colors, textures, shapes, and empty space. The main purpose of composition is to bring out the main object figure that is the center of attention and create balance in a photo, and that rule is called the rule of thirds.

9. Rule of thirds

Dividing the frame into three horizontal and vertical parts makes it easier for us to compose. The main purpose of the rule of thirds is to create balance in one frame. By using this 1/3 rule we can produce a more dynamic image where the attention of people who enjoy our photos later will not be fixated on one static side in the middle. This rule divides the frame into 9 parts with 2 imaginary horizontal lines and 2 imaginary vertical lines. We can place the main subject of the image at one of the imaginary line intersections. By placing the main subject not in the middle of the image, people who see the photo will have more opportunity to explore the entire frame.

The silhouette photo below places the objects exactly on the vertical 1/3 line. The silhouette of the person is on the AC line and the silhouette of the kite is on the BD line. This composition creates a balanced impression in a photo.

Let's look at another example. The placement of the bride's head is in area number 5, meaning the middle of a photo. To hone our composition skills, then place the main object in areas 1-9, at point AD and at the intersection of AC and BD.
