The Lava Tour was our next stop after visiting Borobudur Temple on the first day of our Yogya Tour. The history of the Lava Tour began shortly after the Merapi eruption in 2010, which led the Merapi gatekeeper, the late Mbah Maridjan, to return to God Almighty. Yes, who else but the late Mbah Maridjan.
On this occasion, I used the services of DANANG JEEP to explore the most dramatic locations within the red zone, the most dangerous radius where residents were evacuated and later relocated to safer areas.
DANANG JEEP defines the red zone exploration sites as follows:
- Kaliurang
- Mini Museum
- Wajah Rock
- Kaliadem Bunker
- Mbah Maridjan’s Grave
